GIC rate history

Every monthly sweep is archived rather than overwritten, so this record only grows. It is also the reason we can show where rates have been, not only where they are.

1 snapshot · 130 quotesFirst recorded 2026-09-04

The record starts here. There is one snapshot so far, taken 2026-09-04, so there is no trend to show yet — a series needs a second point. Each monthly refresh adds one, and this page fills in on its own. Nothing can be backfilled: the issuers' pages only ever show today.

Why this exists

A rate table tells you today. An archive tells you whether today is good.

Comparison sites overwrite their tables each month, so the previous state is gone. Keeping each sweep costs nothing and is the only way to answer whether 4.30% on a five-year is high or low by recent standards.

How the sweep works

Snapshots are read from each issuer's own posted page and are not restated from any other source. Educational information only, not financial advice. Published by Croton Holdings LLC. Corrections to daniel@crotoncontent.com.
